The Father of HandiFox

The Father of HandiFox

July 10, 2017

People may hear your words, but they feel your attitude.

John C. Maxwell

This blog post is not about software updates, industry news or customer stories. Not so much is it about HandiFox as a product. In this short article, we would like to spotlight one of the people working with us. His name is Bill McCaslin and he is HandiFox Product Manager.

Here is how Bill’s story with HandiFox started. Bill’s first career was with Harris Corporation, a large technology company, defense contractor, and information technology services provider. He took an early retirement and started a consulting business - that’s when Bill made acquaintance with Tecom Group but it was not yet the time of when cooperation sprang to life. There was another one-person company in the building where Bill was providing consulting services. That other company was working on a handheld computer project but wasn’t  able to pull off the technical side on their own. Tecom Group and Bill took on the task of creating a prototype of a handheld computer program that would communicate with  QuickBooks –  that would turn into HandiFox in some years after Tecom Group acquired the rights to the intellectual property. One day they got a call from a wholesaler in Chicago, Kurt Casas, who turned out to be the first client of the HandiFox we know now and one of the major contributors to the project in the years to come. All of this happened over 10 years ago and Bill has been with HandiFox ever since. And we are thankful to life for those twists as we are lucky to have Bill on our team.

Personality.

We can’t imagine a more dedicated, thoughtful, tactful and wise leader that could run a diverse international team like ours and always, always stay on top of things, jump in with a joke or a story in meetings, commend us on the completed work and be so caring and professional towards the team and our customers.

Attitude.

It is what makes a difference in any sphere of life or interpersonal relations, including customer-provider relationships. Bill always makes it his responsibility to take a personal interest in each client, working out their business needs and seeing things through on system rollout. If you have had a chance to talk to Bill, you know it is true.

We would like to take the opportunity and congratulate Bill on his birthday that was on the 8th of July and say thank you for staying with us, thank you for your attitude and being such a great boss and mentor to us!

With Love,

HandiFox Team
