The company supplies more than 1,170 SKUs—from grains and dairy to specialty imports—to luxury resorts, hotels, and local wholesalers across the Maldives. We spoke with Jobin Shaji, Chief Accountant at Annlee, about how the company’s search for an inventory system finally found its match in HandiFox.
The Challenge
Annlee’s growth was accompanied by growing pains in inventory control. The company relied on multiple, non-integrated systems to manage stock and accounting, with Excel spreadsheets as the last line of verification. This setup made it difficult to keep inventory aligned with books of accounts, track stock positions, and prevent discrepancies.

Managing two separate systems—one for inventory and one for accounting—meant inefficiency and duplication of work. With over 1,170 SKUs to handle, the strain on staff time and accuracy was becoming unsustainable.
Why HandiFox
Before turning to HandiFox, Annlee tested multiple solutions, including Tally, Zoho Books, and QuickBooks integrations such as SOS Inventory, Katana, and Erplain. None provided the right combination of real-time visibility, QuickBooks sync, and operational flexibility.
HandiFox Online stood out for its seamless integration with QuickBooks, customizable features, and real-time stock tracking—all crucial to keeping perishable goods moving smoothly across the islands.
Implementation
Migrating data to HandiFox was faster than expected. Within two weeks, Annlee had successfully transferred inventory details, suppliers, customers, units of measurement, and GST percentages. Staff training took just 2–3 days, after which daily operations began running in HandiFox.

The company also implemented lot number tracking and units of measurement (UOM), both of which proved essential for managing expiry dates, writing off spoilage, and keeping operations compliant with food safety standards.
Results
With HandiFox in place, Annlee no longer needs Excel or multiple parallel systems to reconcile stock. Real-time syncing with QuickBooks ensures inventory data is always accurate and easy to track.

The impact on efficiency has been immediate. Inventory management requires significantly less effort, saving time and reducing errors. Today, Annlee reports being more than 90% comfortable with the system.
